• Key Ideas: Kenya is made up of tribal groups with diverse cultures.

• Kenyan culture is similar and different to our American culture.

• Vocabulary: ancestor, dialect, ethnic group, tribe, harambee, kikuyu, maasai, Swahili, Islam/Muslim, Ramadan

Theme 4: Geography, Humans and the Environment

• Key Ideas: Kenya has a varied geographic landscape.

• Africa is a continent, not a country. Kenya is a country in Africa.

• The geography of Kenya is both similar and different to the USA.
